Sonia Francioni, DMD
Dr. Sonia Francioni was born in London, England and attended the American School of Milan in Italy. In 1986, Dr. Francioni attended Marymount College, now known as Fordham University in Tarrytown, New York where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelors of Science. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree (D.M.D.) from the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated top of her class. After Dental School, Dr. Francioni went on to complete her Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery specialty training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey.
Dr. Francioni is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, The American Dental Association, The Mid-Atlantic Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The Northern Virginia Dental Society, and The Fairfax Dental Society.
During her training, she did extensive research in the field of maxillofacial surgery as well as published several articles in medical journals and books. Dr. Francioni performs the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with an emphasis on orthognathic surgery, dental implants, bone grafting and TMJ disorders. She is also certified in Cosmetic Surgery, including Botox and fillers.
In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and spending time with her family.
