Michael V. Spatafora, DDS
Dr. Michael Spatafora was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. Some of his earliest memories are of running around a dental office as his parents are both general dentists. After studying biomedical science at York University in Toronto, he followed in his parents’ footsteps and attended dental school at the University of Toronto. He developed his interest in Oral Surgery spending his summers in dental school doing research in the Oral Surgery department at his school, earning him multiple awards. After dental school, in pursuit of advanced training, he completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery internship at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York. He subsequently completed his 4-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan, New York.
Dr. Spatafora’s internship and residency across multiple hospitals and three boroughs of New York exposed him to a diverse patient population and a wealth of surgical experience. He has practiced all areas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including wisdom teeth, dental implants, IV sedation and general anesthesia, trauma, corrective jaw surgery, pathology, TMJ, facial reconstruction, and cosmetics. He is particularly passionate about wisdom teeth, complex dental implantology, hard and soft tissue regeneration, orthognathic surgery, trauma, and virtual surgical planning/digital dentistry. He is always looking for new technologies and advancements in dentistry to incorporate into providing exceptional patient care.
Dr. Spatafora takes the time to get to know all of his patients to find out both what they need and what unique solution he can offer. Fun fact about Dr. Spatafora: his first two patients for wisdom teeth were his sisters! Dr. Spatafora looks forward to getting to know you and treating you like he would his own family.
